What is OMM?

Osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) is the hands-on application of osteopathic manipulative treatment, OMT, which is applied after a full structural examination of the body is completed. The structural examination will allow the Osteopathic Physician to diagnose Somatic Dysfunctions in various areas of the body. The structural exam will include evaluation of the Cranium, Cervical Spine, Thoracic Spine, Lumbar Spine, Sacral Anatomy, Pelvis, and the Extremities for Somatic Dysfunctions. These dysfunctions are then treated utilizing Osteopathic Manipulation. Our physicians utilize their extensive mastery of anatomy to manipulate the body to bring about healing. In addition to precise manipulation of the anatomy, our Osteopaths will consider the mental/psychosocial, and spiritual health of each patient. Our physicians utilize a holistic approach to determine how each of these parts of the whole being may be contributing to a disease process.
